KILLER CHARM
aka Slay Belle Buffy's Charisma Carpenter has her own killercharm

Q: Hey Carisma, I love Cordy on BtVS, i was wondering how it feels working with Sarah, Aly, Seth, Nick, David, and every one else?- Jackie, NY

Charisma Carpenter: Its an amazing experience because they are all so incredibly talented. I feel that I've improved working with them.

Q: How did you get your name?

Charisma: My mother and father were fighting over what to name me, and then my grandmother came in with a bottle of Avon perfume. The name of the bottle was "Charisma" -- my mom didn't like the perfume but loved the name.

Q: I know you were the runner-up for playing Buffy Summers - do you ever regret that audition, or think about what you could have done better, or anything like that?

Charisma: I wasn't not chosen based on a poor performance. I was chosen for Cordy -- who I love playing -- because I suited that character better. I think Sarah was more well suited for Buffy. Besides, brunettes are usually the villain

Q: How do you feel about leaving "Buffy" for "Angel"?

Charisma: It's a little scary leaving the security of Buffy. But it offers a whole world of opportunities and we'll be on the same lot with the same writers and producers so it won't be that big of a change.

Q: If Cordelia had another "wish" in the next episode of Buffy, what would it be?

Charisma: I guess the biggest wish might be to find true love.

Q: What is it like working with gross-looking demons every week? is it like a new adventure every week?

Charisma: Definitely. one really amazing demon was in a recent ep. The guy was about 7 feet tall. They gave him an ugly witch nose and disgusting make-up. I was really impressed with the scariness of the monster. He really came alive.

Q: Are Xander and Cordy going to get back together?

Charisma: That's more of a Joss [Whedon] question, but I doubt it.

Q: How long have you been acting?

Charisma: Well 3 seasons on Buffy andMalibu Shores before that -- probably 5 years

Q: What's it like kissing Nick Brendon, since you guys are such close friends? How do you feel about the break up?

Charisma: I'm sad because we don't get to work together as much. The kissing part took us time -- it was like kissing each other for the first time every time.

Q: Hi! do you have anything in common with your character on the show?

Charisma: I guess we both seek the truth and we're very honest people. Hopefully I have more tact than she does.

Q: Do you have any movies or something like that coming up in the near future?

Charisma: Not on the plate right now. With Angel starting in June, I would only have 2 months [off to do a movie]. We're trying to find something that will fit in that time.

Q: What do you look for in a guy?

Charisma: My guy is sensitive. I look for loyalty and independence

Q: Did you like the movie Buffy the Vampire Slayer?

Charisma: Yes I did.

Q: Hi Charisma! Cool name! I was wondering, how has being known as "Cordelia" changed your life? Ever get to do anything without getting mobbed or recognized?

Charisma: I never am mobbed. I do get recognized occasionally. I hope that peope aren't afraid to talk to me because they think I am like Cordelia.

Q: Could you please clear up the rumor going around that your character Cordelia is going to be a vampire on the "Angel" show. You said something about it in an interview but your answer could have been interpreted in a lot of ways.

Charisma: I have no idea where that came from. There was a misprint in Pavement magazine. I said "the undead and all of that" and they printed "I'm undead"

Q: Hi Charisma! I was just wondering how much input you have into the show, especially the character and development of Cordelia?

Charisma: None, and that's fine. Joss has it well under control.

Q: Who is the funniest person to work with on the show?

Charisma: Everybody has a really great sense of humor. I guess Nicki keeps me laughing the most since I am around him most.

Q: You are very pretty, what is your heritage?

Charisma: My heritage is Heinz 57. I'm everything.

Q: What do you find is the most challenging part of your job?

Charisma: Staying cool under pressure.

Q: Do you and [Sarah Michelle] get along offstage and go like shopping and to the beach and stuff?

Charisma: I don't know about the beach, but we've spent time together.

Q: How long ago were you on Baywatch and what was it like?

Charisma: It was the first thing I did, so 4 or 5 years ago. It was interesting since the person I worked opposite was 9 years my junior.

Q: How would you compare the clothes you wear in everyday life to the clothes you wear on the show?

Charisma: I only wish I had Cordelia's wardrobe.

OnlineHost: Thanks so much for coming, everybody! We have to wrap things up!

Charisma: Thanks for inviting me.
